Bueongi Shabu Shabu Near Myeonghak Station for Lunch
A family lunch review of Bueongi Shabu Shabu near Myeonghak Station, with plain and spicy shabu shabu, thick 100% Korean bean kongguksu, cold buckwheat noodles, Sunday closure notes, and nearby paid parking.
Hi, this is Ijjingne. Today I went to a shabu-shabu spot near Myeonghak Station. I had been here before, and I remembered the kongguksu being so good that I brought my family back after about two weeks.

Bueongi Shabu Shabu is just a short walk in from the main road in front of Myeonghak Station. Parking is a little awkward, but you can park at the Art Center right in front. There is a fee; I parked for about 1 hour and 30 minutes and paid around KRW 1,800.

Anyang locals probably know the spot: it is on the second floor of the Busan Gaya Milmyeon building. It is closed every Sunday, so keep that in mind before visiting. It also works as a Myeonghak Station delivery restaurant.

Three of us visited, but we somehow ordered four dishes.
Plain shabu shabu Spicy shabu shabu 100% Korean bean kongguksu Spicy, sour Cheongyang cold buckwheat noodles
My parents had shabu shabu and I had kongguksu. When they were almost finished with the shabu shabu, my dad suggested trying one cold buckwheat noodle dish, so we added it.

The interior was fairly spacious and clean. Since the shabu shabu is served individually, each seat had its own induction burner. The window seats looked perfect for eating alone. As someone who eats solo often, I really liked those seats.

Besides shabu shabu, there were many other menu items, including sukiyaki, Vietnamese spring rolls, noodles, and udon. It felt just right for lunch.

The plain shabu shabu came out first. The broth can be refilled, and the portions of vegetables and meat were quite generous.

This was the spicy shabu shabu, with a red broth and a sharp, spicy taste. My mom preferred the plain broth, while I liked the spicy version. Both were tasty, so it seems best to order according to your preference.
There were many ingredients, including vegetables, mushrooms, dumplings, fried tofu, and sweet pumpkin. The three sauces also helped keep the meal from feeling repetitive until the end.

The kongguksu was not made from thin soy milk but from ground beans, so the bean broth was very thick. It was not watery and had a little body to it. The owner called it a signature effort, and I think I will come back two or three more times this summer just for this. I came that day because of the kongguksu, and once you taste it, you understand.

For the final bite, everyone tried a little of the cold buckwheat noodles. The broth was very deep. Maybe because Cheongyang chili was included, wasabi was not served by default. I asked for extra wasabi and ate it together, and it was even better. If you want cool noodles at lunch or crave Anyang sukiyaki on a rainy day, I recommend shabu shabu near Myeonghak Station.
