A personal review of Biyori Yongsan, a Yongridan-gil izakaya with terrace seating, chicken tomato nabe, pasta noodles, a clean restroom, and a relaxed date-night atmosphere.

Hi! Today I visited an izakaya in Yongsan. It’s a Yongridan-gil bar with terrace seating, and honestly, I didn’t look it up in advance. I just passed by, thought the terrace looked pretty, and walked in. We ordered the signature menu, and both the food and the atmosphere were great.

The shop is located in an inner alley of Yongridan-gil. Parking at the restaurant itself is difficult, so you need to use public parking. There is street public parking near Samgakji Station. Hours: 16:30–02:00 Last order: 01:00 It sits between Samgakji Station and Sinyongsan Station, so the walking distance seemed similar whichever station you use.

The basic appetizer was soft tofu topped with sauce and katsuobushi. It was delicious!

Chicken tomato nabe + pasta noodles

We ordered the chicken tomato nabe, the signature menu at Biyori Yongsan. Since it is an izakaya, it seemed to focus on nabe and skewer dishes. Because it was my first visit, I played it safe with the signature dish. You can add pasta noodles to the nabe, and since my friend and I both love pasta, we added noodles when ordering.

The dish itself looked so pretty. It felt like a tomato stew with chicken, and it had a variety of vegetables inside. Cheese covered the top, bread came with it, and the portion felt generous.

I thought the pasta noodles would come out halfway through, but they arrived together with the dish. You just add them yourself after eating some of the nabe.

The owner gave us time to take photos and then prepared all the chicken inside the pot for us. The bread can get soggy, so they brought a separate plate and set it aside. I don’t like soggy bread, so the owner was the best.

Because I had only been on the terrace, I didn’t know what the inside looked like. When I went in to use the restroom, I saw a women’s restroom on the second floor. I went upstairs, and the second-floor atmosphere was also really nice. There were plenty of seats, and the window-side seats on the second floor had the doors wide open, so the space looked open and cool. The restroom was an individual restroom and very clean. There was also a separate space to fix makeup, and it was spacious and comfortable. I think women would like this place if you choose it for a date.

We added the pasta noodles when the nabe had been eaten down to about this level. Once the nabe boiled and bubbled up, we lowered the heat and added the noodles. The noodles came already cooked, so we just warmed them enough for the sauce to soak in.

It tasted exactly like tomato pasta! The noodles felt a little firm, but since they were pre-cooked noodles added separately, I understood. Still, it was better than expected. We ordered just one nabe, but it came with bread and you can add noodles, so it felt like decent value. We had to order only one dish because we were going somewhere else for a second round, but next time I wanted to try other menu items too.

As for the terrace seating, the tables were wide, so it was comfortable to eat. There are two four-person tables, and maybe because of that, they were very popular. Even when there were seats inside, some people were waiting to sit on the terrace. Each seat had a mosquito coil on the floor, and there were lights on the tables, so it wasn’t too dark and the mood was nice. Delicious food, a good location, a clean restroom, a terrace, and a friendly owner—honestly, there weren’t many reasons not to go.
