Baobab Pyeongchon Review: Pizza and Kozel Draft Beer
A personal review of Baobab Pyeongchon near Pyeongchon Station Exit 1, featuring handmade Jalapeño Bacon Pizza, Oji Cheese Fries, and Kozel Dark Cinnamon draft beer.
Today I visited Baobab Pyeongchon, a pizza spot I had been wanting to return to after a while. I really like Kozel Cinnamon, and this was the place I had previously visited because the review notes it is the only spot around Pyeongchon Station serving Kozel Dark Cinnamon on draft. Since I love the pizza-and-Kozel pairing, I came back again.

The location is about a 3-minute walk from Pyeongchon Station Exit 1, so it is easy to visit from the station. 📍 Hours 16:00-02:00 The source says no regular closing day was written, but the reviewer has seen it sometimes not open on Mondays, so calling before visiting is recommended. 📍 Parking For parking, the reviewer recommends using a nearby public parking lot.

There are outdoor seats set up outside, too. When the weather is nice, it feels just right for pimaek, the Korean-style pizza-and-beer pairing. When I visited in summer, they opened the large windows, so it had that breezy outdoor-yajang feeling. It felt really nice.

Inside, the space is clean and comfortable. It is not too dark, and it has a warm, woody atmosphere. There are seats farther inside, and there is also a second floor, so it is easy to choose a seat that feels comfortable.

What I ordered: Jalapeño Bacon Pizza Oji Cheese Fries Kozel Dark Cinnamon
My favorite here is the Jalapeño Bacon Pizza. I had it last time as well, and it was good. Since this was dinner, one pizza did not feel like it would be enough, so I also ordered Oji Cheese Fries as a side.

Baobab is a great place for draft beer. If you are looking for a variety of draft beers around Pyeongchon Station, this is the kind of place to consider. There are many kinds, and the taps seemed well managed, so the draft beer tasted very good. I always think I should try several different beers before I go, but once I get there, I end up drinking only Kozel. It is just that good.

This is the one: cold Kozel Dark draft beer with sugar and cinnamon on top. The bitterness, sweetness, and cinnamon come together really well. It was delicious.

Before the pizza came out, the Oji Cheese Fries arrived first. The fries were thin and fried crisp, so they matched really well with the cheese.

They came with plenty of cheddar cheese on top. The fries were rich, crispy, and salty, which made them a great match for draft beer. They are just right as a side, and if one pizza does not feel like enough, the Oji Cheese Fries are highly recommended.

The pizza was fully handmade, but it came out faster than expected, which was nice. It had a thin crust with plenty of cheese and toppings. When I took a bite, the bacon tasted fresh, which made me like it even more. The small pieces of jalapeño added a subtle spicy kick, and the sweet-spicy flavor was excellent.

The cheese stretched nicely, and it stayed tasty to the end. It had a savory, slightly sweet, rich taste, and the tomato sauce matched it better than expected. I finished every slice.

Garlic sauce and radish pickles came with the pizza. I dipped the pizza crust ends into the garlic sauce, so nothing was left behind. Parmesan cheese powder and Tabasco hot sauce are available if you ask the staff. I needed both, and it was nice to change up the flavor from slice to slice.

The combination of Baobab’s handmade pizza and draft beer was excellent. I sometimes come here for Kozel Dark, and when I crave Kozel Dark again, I think I will keep coming back to Baobab. The pizza is handmade rather than frozen, and even the cheese tastes fresh. I have tried another pizza here before, and because they generally use plenty of cheese, it is hard to go wrong. It is also a good place if you want to enjoy different world beers on draft. My favorite, the Kozel Dark Cinnamon, is strongly recommended. #AnyangBar #AnyangDate #AnyangOutdoorSeating #PyeongchonStationBar #PyeongchonRestaurant #PyeongchonPizza #AnyangPizza #AnyangHandmadePizza #AnyangPizzaRestaurant #PyeongchonPizzaRestaurant #PyeongchonDraftBeer #PyeongchonWorldBeer #PyeongchonBeerSpot #AnyangWorldBeer #PyeongchonStationBeerSpot #PyeongchonStationOutdoorSeating #PyeongchonStationOutdoorBar
