Jakdu Doryeong Anyang Saju and Shinjeom Reading Review
A personal visit to Jakdu Doryeong near Anyang Jungang Market, with location cues, listed hours, a reservation tip, and impressions from a saju-style reading.
Hello from Izzingne! I heard there was a place in Anyang that people recommended for saju readings, so I made a reservation and visited. It had been a long time since I last had my fortune read. I think I only tried it for fun around age 20, asking about romance luck or job luck. Visiting a more professional-feeling place like this was my first time, so I was a little nervous. I did not have a major problem or a specific question. I was simply curious about my current saju and luck, and while looking around Anyang, I chose Jakdu Doryeong.

The location is near Anyang Jungang Market. From Sundae Gopchang Alley, go a little farther up, and from Anyang Jungang Catholic Church, continue a bit farther upward. The sign is large and dark, so it is easy to notice. Listed hours: 10:00-22:00 Since this is a place for one-on-one saju interpretation and shinjeom readings, I recommend calling ahead or making a reservation before visiting.

The entrance is bright, which makes it easy to find. It also turned out to be right next to Yujin Sundae Gopchang Bokkeum, a place I often used to visit.

Go up to the second floor and you will see the entrance. There were things like money, alcohol, and snacks arranged at the entrance. It was my first time seeing a place set up like this, so it felt interesting and new to me.

After pressing the doorbell and waiting for a short moment, the doryeong-nim came out and greeted us warmly. I had arrived feeling a bit tense, but because he welcomed us so brightly, I felt comfortable quickly. If he had seemed scary, I think I would have stayed nervous the whole time, so I was relieved.

Once inside, we sat here first, and he served us something simple to drink. I went with my mom, so he gave us two drinks.

The area near the entrance was neatly organized. The actual space for the reading was farther inside, and that part really surprised me.

Maybe because it was my first time visiting this kind of fortune-telling place, everything felt fascinating. I only told him my birth date and name, and he shared many different thoughts and stories.
He asked whether I was satisfied with my job and said that since I am still young, it could be good to look for other work that I might feel more satisfied with. He also told me to prepare well and try to make something really happen next year. Because I went with my mom, he also talked about our future and our relationship. He described what kind of person my mom is and what I, as her daughter, should do, and also explained what my mom could do for me based on what kind of person I am. A lot of it felt somewhat abstract, but it was still nice because it gave me a sense of direction. That is how saju usually feels, right? I do not think it can always be extremely specific.

If you are curious about saju, shinjeom, or fortune readings near Anyang, I recommend Jakdu Doryeong. I visited with my mom, and she also said it was fascinating. It was such an interesting experience to think that a person’s inborn saju could show some part of the future. Next year, I may come back once to try a shinjeom reading.
