Daemul Mountain Beef Brisket Review Near Indeogwon
A lunch review near Indeogwon Station in Anyang, ordering Daemul mountain-style beef brisket for two with vegetables, sauces, cheongju, and self-serve side dishes.
Hello, this is Ijjingne. Today I went to Indeogwon in Anyang for a simple lunch.

The restaurant is within about 10 minutes if you come out of Indeogwon Station Exit 4 and walk into the alley. There is a public parking lot right in front, so I parked there before going in. Parking was free on weekends and holidays. Hours: 13:00-24:00. Closed every Sunday.

Daemul mountain-style beef brisket for two, with 400g of meat and 300g of vegetables.
At 25,000 won for two people, I thought it was good value.

The restaurant opens at 13:00, and I visited around 13:20, so I was the first customer. The hall was very spacious and clean, and ordering by tablet was convenient.

The side dishes and vegetables came out first. There were plenty of vegetables, including bean sprouts, oyster mushrooms, and bok choy, which I liked.

The beef brisket portion was generous. Under the beef brisket, they also served onion and chives. They explained that you should put the meat on first, grill it a bit, and then add the separately served vegetables to grill together.

Once the grill pan was hot, I added the meat and gently stir-fried it as it cooked.

One unusual thing was that they served cheongju with it. They said that if it starts to feel greasy or if you want a different flavor, you can dip the meat in the cheongju before grilling it. I tried it, and it really was good. It cut through the richness and seemed to bring up the flavor. They also served cham sauce with wasabi sauce and ssamjang, and the wasabi sauce was my favorite.

I set aside a few pieces of meat in advance so I could dip them in cheongju before grilling.

After the meat was somewhat cooked, I added the bean sprouts, bok choy, and oyster mushrooms they had served separately. These vegetables soften quickly, so I stir-fried them only briefly and turned down the heat. I figured the residual heat would cook them more.

Eating the meat and vegetables together with cham sauce was a great match: the rich meat and crisp vegetables went really well together.

There was also an event you could join before ordering. Grilled abalone with butter or braised garlic back ribs for two felt like a very generous event. It was nice that everyone in the party could participate.

Extra side dishes are available at the self-service bar. Just as the name says, the Daemul mountain-style beef brisket really came piled high. It also seems good as a drinking snack in the evening, and because the restaurant is spacious, it would work well for company dinners or group gatherings. They have many other menus, including cypress-steamed dishes, braised back ribs, and clam hot pot, so I want to come back and try those too.
