Parangsaeya Beomgye Izakaya Review: Chicken Grill in Anyang
A personal review of Parangsaeya, an izakaya-style spot in Anyang’s Beomgye area, covering the stated hours, break time, seating, grilled chicken, tebasaki, draft beer, and cheese fried rice.
Hello, this is Ijjingne >< Today I’m sharing a food spot in Anyang’s Beomgye area. I’m an Anyang local, but somehow I only just made it to Parangsaeya. I really had to reflect on that one...
Stated business hours: 11:30–24:00 Break time: 15:00–17:00 Last order: 23:00 No break time on weekends Limited reservations available: weekdays 17:00–17:30, weekends 1:00–3:00, according to the source note.

I had heard that this place usually has a wait, but when I visited at around 6 p.m., there were still about two or three seats left. It looked like there may also be seating on the second floor, but I didn’t go up to check. On the first floor, most seats seemed to be for four to five people. I chose a cozy two-person seat.

It was a seat where you sit side by side with your companion while facing the wall. There was only one like it, so I felt lucky to grab it. After ordering, they brought the basic sides: fried chicken-skin salad, pickled garlic stems, egg yolk, and soup.

Our order: Parangsae assorted grilled chicken for two Six tebasaki Draft beer
Parangsaeya is known for grilled chicken. I wanted to try both the grilled chicken and the tebasaki, so I ordered them as a set menu.

There are also tips for eating the grilled chicken well. Following the numbered order shown in the photo, you try different sauces with different pieces. The recommended sauce changes depending on the chicken part.

When the grilled chicken comes out, the staff grill part of it for you. They told us to keep turning it so it would not burn, and once it became nicely golden, it was ready to eat.

I prepared the sauces on my small plate in advance. Honestly, every sauce tasted good. My personal favorite was the egg yolk. It also paired so well with draft beer — exactly the kind of snack you want with beer. Parangsaeya also has yuja draft beer. I had tried yuja draft beer at Horangi Cave, which the reviewer notes is run by the same owner, so the taste should be the same. It was really good, and I recommend first-time visitors try it.
The grilled chicken was cooked until golden. I liked that the set included plenty of scallions. Eating it together with the vegetables made it feel a bit like chicken skewers.

The tebasaki came out like this. The seasoning looked very strong, so I wondered if it would be extremely salty, but it was less salty than I expected. The pepper flavor did feel fairly strong.

I squeezed a little lemon over it, which made it pleasantly refreshing. It is better to eat it before it gets cold — once it cooled down, I did not like it as much.

I tried dipping things into different sauces and made sure to enjoy the vegetables too >< The mushrooms and scallions were so good.

To finish, we ordered fried rice. It was chicken neck cheese fried rice, and the cheese was seriously delicious. There was a surprisingly generous amount of chicken in it, too. Instead of simply sprinkling cheese on top, they stir-fried it together with the rice, so every spoonful had stretchy melted cheese. If you are looking for an izakaya in Beomgye or a Japanese-style bar atmosphere, I highly recommend Parangsaeya.
