A review of Mansun Kodari & Jjukkumi in Bakdal-dong, covering its new location, hours, spicy webfoot octopus, codfish with siraegi, side dishes, and group-friendly hall.

Hi, this is Ijjingne. Today I visited Mansun, my favorite jjukkumi place. Their kodari is good too, but lately the jjukkumi has been especially delicious.

Hours: 11:00-21:30 Last order: 20:40 Mansun Kodari & Jjukkumi used to be near Bakdal Woosung Apartment. It has moved and reopened nearby. I had been sad when I passed by and saw it gone, so I remember feeling relieved when I found that it had reopened close by.

It has the look of a real local favorite. The menu is focused on just three types: kodari, jjukkumi, and jeyuk.

Siraegi kodari jorim, small size for two Buchu jjukkumi bokkeum for two

There were three of us, but we ordered four portions. We wanted both dishes, and since they do not sell single portions, we ordered two portions of each.

The hall is fairly spacious. I often see groups coming for company dinners, family gatherings, or club meetups. Since it reopened recently, it also felt cleaner.

The side dishes at Mansun are also really good. The bean sprout soup served with the meal was seasoned just right and tasted clean, so I kept eating it.

The jjukkumi came out before the kodari. Somen noodles came with it too, to mix with the jjukkumi. This is honestly my favorite jjukkumi. I had never had webfoot octopus this springy and chewy before, to the point that I wondered why I had only ordered kodari on previous visits.

Wrap rice, chives, and jjukkumi in gim like this, and it tastes so good.

Put jjukkumi and seasoned chives over white rice and mix it well. The seasoned chives have whole perilla seeds, so they are nutty and tasty. They go really well with the jjukkumi.

The jjukkumi is already delicious on its own, but eating it with the chives adds a nutty flavor that makes it even better. Every time I go to Mansun, I end up overeating.

The kodari came out soon after. It also came with somen noodles, which are good mixed into the sauce. We ordered siraegi kodari jorim, and in my opinion kodari without siraegi would be wrong, so I recommend choosing the version with siraegi. The kodari was very good, but the jjukkumi was truly on another level.
