Namyangju Hangang 632 Street Cafe Weekend Review

Hi, this is Ijjingne. Today I went out to Namyangju and wanted to write a review of Hangang 632 Street, a cafe known on Instagram for its night view.

The atmosphere really is relaxed. Many people were lying on beanbags looking at the view, reading, or using laptops. Honestly, the view speaks for itself. It is pretty.

Hours: Tue, Wed, Thu, Sun 10:30-01:00; Mon 10:30-24:00; Sat, Sun 10:30-02:00. Parking is in the first-floor space in front of the cafe, but it fills up at peak times, partly because other shops share the area. I visited around 3 p.m. On a weekend and waited a little before parking. If you want a third-floor beanbag seat, one person can park while another goes upstairs first to secure seats and save time.

Iced Americano, iced cold brew, Sunsu cake, and nurungji salt bread.

Since this is a cafe people visit for the view, the drink prices felt steep. Most drinks seemed to be around KRW 8,000 to 10,000. I wanted both a soft cake and a crispy salt bread, so I ordered Sunsu cake and Hangang 632 Street’s signature nurungji salt bread.

There were about six or seven kinds of cake, and the bakery case also had tarts, salt bread, and even dacquoise.

I picked the nurungji salt bread that looked the best. You choose the bread you want and pay for it together when ordering drinks.

There are seats on the first and second floors too, but I skipped them and went straight to the third floor. As expected, the beanbags were full. There were a few chairs and tables beside the beanbag area, and one table was open, so I sat there first and had coffee. Since those side seats are also by the full windows, anyone who finds floor seating or beanbags uncomfortable can still enjoy the view from a table.

The Americano here came with bear-shaped ice. Since the iced Americano was KRW 8,000, at least it had a cute bear ice cube.

After sitting at the table for about 10 minutes, two beanbag seats opened up. No one else was waiting right then, so I moved over immediately.

The beanbag was not as comfortable as I expected. My body was half lying down, but my lower back hurt a little. There are chairs right in front of the stairs, and people waiting for beanbag seats usually sit there until a spot opens. People were still waiting for seats when we left, so on weekends, waiting seems pretty much expected.

The coffee tasted ordinary, but the salt bread was quite good. The top and bottom were both crisp, and when I cut into it, the butter aroma came up from inside. I could see why the nurungji salt bread is the signature item.

When it rained and got darker, the mood became even better. The inside is quite dark, though, so it felt a little too dim for reading or working on a laptop. It is best for simply enjoying the Han River view.

If you want to visit when bread is coming out, use the photo as a reference. I probably would not revisit. The view was pretty, but many Namyangju cafes have good views, so I would look for a cafe with more comfortable seating next time.
