Celine Vanity Edge Coating Repair Review at Galleria Gwanggyo

Hi, this is Ijjingne. I made a mistake. Maybe I carried it around too casually, but the edge coating on my Celine vanity bag, which was only six months old, peeled.

At first I did not know what edge coating was, so I was shocked and thought I had somehow torn up the edge of the bag. The store explained that if the edge area comes away like in the photo, that means the coating has peeled. I learned that after visiting the store.

May 25 I visited Galleria Gwanggyo, the store where I had purchased the bag. After checking the bag, they explained that the edge coating had peeled and that this can happen when it rubs against clothing or an outside material or gets bumped. They only told me it would proceed as a paid repair. After sending the bag to the repair center, they said they would text me again once they received details such as the repair cost and repair period. Before sending the bag, the store told me to expect the repair period to usually take at least one month.

June 8 After receiving a message that the bag had arrived, I went back to Gwanggyo. In the end, I was able to receive the bag again two weeks after dropping it off. To summarize my two weeks of communication with the sales associate: they told me what the repair cost had been set at and asked whether I wanted to proceed, so I said yes. I also asked whether the repair could be completed before June 13 because I needed the bag by then. The store said they could not know how much work the repair center had, so they would contact them and reply. Fortunately, the repair center handled it as an urgent repair, so it came back to me in two weeks. They said urgent repair may not be possible when the repair center has a lot of work.

They showed me the bag, repeated the precautions, and I paid the repair fee. They also reminded me to use it carefully because edge coating can peel again after long use or from user carelessness.

My vanity bag came back neatly repaired. For reference, they said the coating cannot be applied only to the peeled spot. The whole connected area has to be redone. Even if one or two spots peel together, if they are part of the same connected section, they proceed together, so it does not mean the cost doubles. Looking closely, this tiny vanity bag has many areas with edge coating. I need to use it carefully all the time.
