Uimat Malatang Near Myeonghak Station, Anyang: 24-Hour Review

Hi! I had malatang again for the first time in a while, and this place was so good. It was clean and delicious—the kind of place that makes you want to come back after one visit.

Uimat Malatang is right by Myeonghak Station in Anyang, directly in front of Exit 2. As it is a relatively new restaurant, the interior was extremely clean, and the staff were friendly. Flavor matters when I choose a malatang restaurant, but I also pay attention to hygiene. Of all the malatang places I have visited, this was the cleanest. 📍 Hours Open 24 hours a day, all year round. You can even have malatang in the early hours of the morning. 📍 Parking Parking support is available. If you use the building parking lot, the restaurant provides one hour of parking support.

There also seemed to be an opening promotion giving away Jeju flight tickets. It looked like an event where everyone could receive a prize rather than a drawing, so it may be worth checking if you are interested.

The interior of Uimat Malatang was spotless. The kitchen is clearly visible from the dining area, which made the place feel even more trustworthy. The dining space was spacious and clean as well.

Look at how neatly arranged the self-service bar is. It had the essential ingredients, plus Panda wide glass noodles, which I had wanted to try.

My vegetable-loving friend and I chose very different ingredients. My friend practically looked like they had come for shabu-shabu, while my bowl was unmistakably for malatang. After filling your bowl, tell the owner whether you want malatang or mala xiang guo and choose your spice level.

Please check the price board for the current prices. The menu includes malatang, mala xiang guo, guobaorou, and fried rice. Spice choices are mild, regular, spicy, and very spicy.

We ordered: - Level 1 malatang - Level 2 malatang - Small guobaorou - Zero Coke

We ordered two different spice levels so we could compare them in photos. And the guobaorou was simply essential.

There was a good range of drinks, including soft drinks, Chinese beverages, beer, and soju. We ordered a soda and could pick it up ourselves after ordering.

This area had assorted sauces and danmuji, or yellow pickled radish, so you can mix a sauce to your taste. Uimat Malatang also offers unlimited rice. We visited around lunchtime and there was freshly cooked white rice. I thought I might have some later if I was still hungry, but the meal filled me up so much that I could not manage it.

Our malatang finally arrived. Level 1 is on top and Level 2 is on the bottom. Their colors did not look very different, but there was a noticeable difference in flavor. Level 1 had a richer, lighter kind of heat, while Level 2 delivered a clearly spicy kick. The mala flavor was slightly stronger than at other places I have tried, which I really liked. I do not prefer malatang that tastes overly Korean-style.

What an appetite-inducing sight. The broth was truly excellent, and the corn noodles were cooked just right. I got full quickly while slurping it down, so I could not eat any rice—but the malatang alone made this a very satisfying meal.

And the guobaorou—what is not delicious here? I caught a glimpse into the kitchen and saw it being battered and fried. The pieces were so uniform that I initially wondered whether they were premade. It was chewy and nutty like glutinous-rice sweet-and-sour pork, with no unpleasant meat smell. Alternating bites of malatang and guobaorou was so good.

The color looks incredible. I had been drinking the day before and came here hoping to settle my stomach, and it did the job perfectly.
