AVA Hair Sanbon Review: Layered Cut and Hair Clinic

Hello! Today I finally went back to the hair salon for a layered cut and a full-care hair clinic treatment. It had been a long time since my last cut, so my hair length had become uneven, and I realized my last clinic treatment was already three months ago. Since I was visiting a salon anyway, I reserved both services together and went in for everything at once.

I visited AVA Hair Sanbon branch, and it was very convenient because it is close to Sanbon Station. After entering, they checked my reservation and guided me to the changing room. I put on a gown and stored my belongings. The system felt reassuring because you store your items yourself and keep the key with you. The gown also had a pocket, so it was convenient for keeping small items close.

After a short wait, I was shown to my seat. There was a cute “compliment tree,” and I thought the staff would probably feel so encouraged if they saw those messages.

Before starting the cut, Director Geumju asked in detail what kind of style I wanted, including the layer level and length. She also paid careful attention to my bangs and aegyo hair, the small face-framing pieces around the hairline. I wanted to keep my overall length, so she only trimmed the damaged ends and shaped the layers. I was very satisfied. My hair already had a layered cut, so this was more of a simple cleanup to organize the layers. I liked the layered cut, and I was especially happy that she neatly arranged the side bangs and face-framing pieces that had grown out and become difficult to style.

Next, we moved to the shampoo room for the clinic treatment. They washed my hair with a clinic-only shampoo, and my scalp felt so refreshed because they cleansed every area carefully. The shampoo room had soft lighting, so it felt relaxing. The space was wide, and if another customer was in the next seat, they used a different section. That made it comfortable. For a treatment like a hair clinic, where you need to leave products on for a while in the shampoo room, it was nice to be able to use the space more privately.

After the clinic shampoo, I was guided back to the table seat. They sprayed cuticle ampoule evenly through my hair and then used heat treatment so it could absorb well.

They also brought me a drink to have while I was receiving the heat treatment. There were several options, and I asked for an iced Americano. Time at the hair salon can be longer than expected, so the snacks they prepared were perfect for when I got a little hungry.

After the heat treatment time ended, they applied a protein ampoule to help balance moisture and oil. They took small sections of hair and pressed the product in carefully as they applied it, so it felt like the protein treatment was being distributed very evenly.

Then it was time to wait again. Since I waited at the table seat, it was not uncomfortable. I played a game while waiting, and my stylist connected a charger close to me, so I was able to receive the clinic treatment comfortably without noticing the time pass.

After that, we moved back to the shampoo room and lightly rinsed out the ampoule that had been applied. Then they applied a CMC ampoule and left it on briefly. The CMC ampoule was allowed to absorb lightly, and as the final step, they finished with a hair coating pack to help the products used so far stay in the hair longer. I lay in the shampoo room for a little while during this step, and they gently covered me with a blanket. They also checked in to see if anything was uncomfortable. They were so kind.

After finishing the clinic treatment, I came back to the seat and took a quick photo. When it was time to dry my hair, two stylists came over and dried it very quickly.

While drying my hair, Director Geumju asked about my plans afterward. Since I was going straight home, I told her it was fine to simply dry my hair without styling it. She also said that right after a clinic treatment, avoiding heat can help the treatment last a little better, so it actually worked out well.

I do not really like having too many layers, so I asked her to adjust it moderately and leave the details to her. She gave me exactly the feeling I wanted. My hair also felt much softer afterward, so it now tangles less when I wash it. More than anything, brushing my hair feels satisfying again.
