Okcheon Spicy Jokbal in Seonbu-dong Ansan
A Seonbu-dong Ansan jokbal review of Okcheon Spicy Jokbal near the Dongmyeong drinking street, with half-and-half front leg jokbal, makguksu, steamed egg, spicy jokbal, herbal jokbal, and clean chewy flavor.
Hello, this is Izzingne. Today I came to Ansan to eat jokbal. I do not usually like jokbal that much and thought it would all taste similar, but this place changed my mind.

It is located in Seonbu-dong, Ansan. From the Dongmyeong main drinking street, go into the alley by Mudeunggol Samgyeopsal and you will see it. It can be a little hard to find, so using Mudeunggol as the landmark should make it easier. The first floor had either one table or almost none, and we went straight up to the second floor and sat down.

Half-and-half front leg jokbal, large Makguksu Steamed egg
The four of us ordered like this. If your group is over four people, the source recommends ordering the large size.

I liked the basic side dishes. With dried radish strips and white kimchi, I thought it would already be enough to eat well. Christmas had long passed, but I saw cute Bbangbbang and Okji decorations and took a photo because Bbangbbang is my favorite.

After chatting for a while, the jokbal came out. We ordered half-and-half, and they served the two types separately, which I liked. I usually like and handle spicy food, so I tried the spicy jokbal first. It was quite good, and it was spicier than expected. It was not impossible to eat, but it definitely made me think, oh, this is spicy.

The herbal jokbal had no unpleasant smell and was chewy and tasty. After eating the spicy one for a while, having the herbal jokbal with dried radish strips and Cheongyang chili tasted clean. It really changed my idea that I did not like jokbal. The steamed egg was soft like pudding, and the makguksu was seasoned well, so the source recommends it too.
We mixed somaek and enjoyed it with the jokbal. If you are looking for spicy jokbal in Ansan, the source recommends trying this place. Many spicy jokbal places are not that spicy or just seem coated in red sauce, but here it was genuinely spicy, chewy, and had no unpleasant smell.
